This problem is hard to fix . You have to remove each blade of the diaphragm and then remove any "grease" dirt from them with "gasoline" for lighters (or "dry" solvents) and inspect the blades to see if they are not oxyded on their edges ! Then , you have to polish the blades with polishing media , then clean one more time with dry solvent and if your polishing give a too "blank" aspect , you have to "reblue" the steel with a gun blueing chemistry.

This lens was introduced in 1979, as the final evolution of the reflex version of Summicron 50, probably the most successful Leica lens of modern times.
Compared to the first version of this lens, released in 1964, this third version features, just like the second version (introduced 1976) a completely recalculated optical scheme, and a completely different barrel design. The most important change is of course the optical redesign, which improves the performance of the lens wide open, and improves the sharpness too, perhaps (like someone says) a little at the expense of wide open bokeh. There is no optical difference between the second and third version of the lens, the latter one being compatible only with the R reflex cameras (thus not any more with Leicaflexes).

SUPERB!! I guess don't need to say more. I didn't find any weakness of this lens, color, sharpness, macro capability just excellent, if compare all this features with other 300 mm lens this is the number one. Better than Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 300mm f/4, Pentacon/Meyer Orestegor 300mm f/4 , Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 AI or Tair 3S.

Small handy like an 50mm lens. Very well built professional lens like all Nikkor AIS. In my opinion ideal to use for portraits , not very sharp at wide open , but not soft at all. Excellent choice for portrait photography to make smooth skin tone.Some people has strong criticism about this lens , they said optical quality is not reach the highest level like 85mm Nikkor-H 1.8 have. I have both lens, I don't think so this lens weaker this is an excellent lens from every point of view.If you want ultimate sharpness take Nikkor 105mm f2.5 AIS instead of this lens. Quiet large f/2 maximum aperture is helpful in shooting indoor or in low light environment. Subtle blurring of the background for beautifully natural and evocative picture.Works perfect with any DSLR camera what can adopt Nikkor lenses and film cameras.I tested this lens with Olympus-E1 and Nikon FA.

It has always been one of my dreams to get this lens. There aren't many available on the market . It looks like a medium format lens, but made with an M42 mount. Its a bit heavy and quite inconvenient to use as you need to hold the lens not the camera body as usual. It is a very sharp lens, even at wide open and pretty fast too. It has outstanding image quality, rendering nice colours, if you ever see pictures taken with this lens you will be falling in love with the oldies. This lens started me off using vintage lenses on DSLR's. If you ever have a chance to grab it, do it! Even if it looks ugly, all pieces are excellent I have never heard from a bad opinion from anyone about this lens.

The fisheye lens produces some extremely unusual photographs.
